Washington has officially signed a participation agreement with Saudi Arabia, formalizing the United States' involvement in the World Expo 2030, set to be held in Riyadh. This significant event coincides with the conclusion of Saudi Arabia's ambitious Vision 2030, a comprehensive plan aimed at diversifying the kingdom's economy beyond oil exports.

Senator Mr. Rubio, speaking alongside Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan at a signing ceremony on the sidelines of a G20 ministerial meeting in Atlanta, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming Expo. "It is still a few years away, but this is an important first step to prepare for a world-leading USA pavilion in Riyadh which we are very excited about," he stated. He further emphasized the opportunity to "strengthen our bilateral relationship with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to showcase America on the global stage and expand commercial opportunities for US businesses."

Expo 2030 Riyadh is scheduled to run from October 1, 2030, to March 31, 2031. The event is anticipated to draw over 42 million visitors and will feature 197 official participants across a sprawling 6 million-square-metre site, according to details from the event's website.
