Moscow is prepared to consider new proposals for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, provided they align with the objectives of President Vladimir Putin, a senior Russian official has stated. Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov noted in an interview with News.ru that Russia remains receptive to initiatives that reflect current conditions on the ground.

Ryabkov’s comments indicate that Moscow may be looking to reengage the Trump administration in supporting its diplomatic agenda. Previously, Moscow acknowledged the United States’ comprehension of its stance, though Washington’s diplomatic focus has recently been diverted by its conflict on Iran.

“The Russian Federation is prepared to consider any reasonable suggestions and concepts that correspond with the aims outlined by the Russian president and address the conditions on the ground,” Ryabkov stated. He further emphasized that the primary factor is Washington's capacity to influence the decisions of the leadership in Kyiv and its European supporters who continue to pursue a strategic defeat of Russia.

President Vladimir Putin has previously insisted that any ceasefire agreement must involve Ukraine ceding the entirety of the eastern Donbas region, undergoing demilitarization, and committing to neutrality regarding NATO membership. Earlier US-brokered talks yielded no breakthrough, and subsequent meetings planned for March were shelved when the United States initiated military action alongside Israel against Iran.

While US special envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff previously spearheaded negotiations, the Kremlin announced it lacks information regarding any upcoming visits from the mediators. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that his administration is preparing new diplomatic strategies, noting that revised approaches are necessary, particularly concerning the United States.

Amid ongoing diplomatic stagnation, hostilities have intensified. Recent drone strikes and military actions have resulted in casualties across multiple regions, including Kharkiv and Zaporizhia in Ukraine, as well as an industrial site in the Perm region of Russia and infrastructure in the Odesa region. Additionally, Finnish authorities reported a recent airspace violation by a Russian reconnaissance aircraft.
