The UAE's commitment to enhancing government services has been underscored by a significant achievement at the Fujairah Traffic and Licensing Services Centre, which has earned the highest possible seven-star rating. This recognition places it as the nation's top performer in the latest assessment of government services, a system designed to measure and elevate the quality and development of public offerings based on user experience.
The results of the sixth cycle of the Global Stars System, which classifies government services, were announced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai. The comprehensive evaluation covered 179 service channels across 27 federal government entities in 2026, scrutinizing service quality, operational efficiency, and the overall customer experience.
Sheikh Mohammed extended his congratulations to the Ministry of Interior for this accomplishment and commended the team led by His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior. He reiterated the UAE's long-standing vision for government services, aiming for standards that rival the hospitality of the finest hotels, the precision of leading banks, and the efficiency of top airlines. The ultimate goal, he stated, is to foster a government that proactively addresses citizens' needs, surpasses their expectations, and simplifies and enriches their lives.
The recent assessment also highlighted broader improvements in federal government service delivery. Performance across service centres saw a five per cent increase, while digital channels improved by four per cent. The most substantial gains were observed in call centre performance, which rose by an impressive 13 per cent.
Other entities also received commendations, including the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Fujairah and the Customer Happiness Centre in Ras Al Khaimah, both securing six-star ratings. The nation's central call centre was awarded a five-star rating.
The Global Star Rating System is instrumental in evaluating the complete customer journey, focusing on how effectively government bodies streamline services to make them faster, smoother, and more accessible. It also ensures a consistent service standard across all interaction points. Launched in 2011, this initiative strives to align UAE government services with global best practices. Service centres are rated on a scale from two to seven stars, based on independent evaluations and direct customer feedback. Each report provides detailed performance insights, identifying strengths and areas for development. The programme has expanded significantly since its inception, growing from an initial 19 service centres to assessing over 1,000 service channels by the end of 2021.
