The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned Iran for carrying out attacks against two vessels linked to the nation's primary oil company within the Strait of Hormuz. The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) confirmed that two of its ships experienced attacks while navigating the waterway on Thursday evening, though the situation was successfully brought under control, according to Emirati media reports.

In an early Friday statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounced the hostile Iranian aggression directed at the two ADNOC-affiliated vessels, confirming that no injuries resulted from the incident. Iran did not immediately issue a response regarding the accusations or the attack.

This escalation follows a similar incident reported by the UAE involving an ADNOC tanker on Saturday. Currently, Iran maintains a blockade on the Strait of Hormuz and seeks to impose passage fees, a plan facing fierce opposition from the United States, which has established its own counter-blockade against Iranian shipping. Meanwhile, discussions regarding the future management of the strait are underway between Iran and Oman.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has previously issued warnings of potential actions against any ships transiting the strait that are associated with Tehran's adversaries or fail to follow Iranian directives. The Emirati Foreign Ministry characterized Iran's efforts to leverage the Strait of Hormuz for economic coercion as acts of piracy and a direct peril to regional stability and global energy supplies. Following the Saturday incident, the UAE similarly blamed the IRGC, drawing widespread condemnation from regional and Arab governments.

According to ADNOC, a cumulative total of 15 company vessels have now been targeted while transiting the Strait of Hormuz since the commencement of the US-Israel war on Iran in February.
