Minister of State for Information Diaa Rashwan reaffirmed Egypt's enduring commitment to its historic role in supporting the Palestinian cause. This includes unifying Palestinian efforts and mobilizing political, humanitarian, media, and popular support to strengthen Palestinian steadfastness and advocate for their just cause on international platforms.
Rashwan conveyed these remarks during a meeting at his office on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, with Ahmed Assaf, General Supervisor of Official Palestinian Media. The discussions centered on the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause, the ongoing Israeli military offensive in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip, and reported violations targeting Islamic holy sites.
The meeting also highlighted the crucial role of Arab media in supporting the Palestinian cause, especially given the evolving international public opinion against Israeli occupation violations following the extensive military operations in the Gaza Strip. Rashwan stated that Egyptian media, across all its platforms, is actively fulfilling its national and pan-Arab responsibility towards the Palestinian cause, which he emphasized as the paramount central issue for all Arabs.
Assaf, in turn, expressed the Palestinian people's gratitude for Egypt's sacrifices and long-standing support. He noted that Egypt's historical stances, particularly since the commencement of the conflict in October 2023, have been vital in countering plans for Palestinian displacement and reinforcing their resilience against the occupation. Assaf also commended the continuous efforts of Egyptian media outlets in championing the Palestinian people's just cause.
