XPENG has unveiled its new GX and G9L flagship SUVs in Dubai, boasting a combined driving range of up to 1,210 km. This launch marks a significant step in the company's accelerated expansion across the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. XPENG, a global leader in Physical AI, revealed its strategic growth plans for the Middle East at its Dubai Brand Night, emphasizing the region's importance as a core market. The company intends to introduce six new models in the MEA region and expand its presence to over 20 markets by 2027, with plans to enter all six GCC markets by the end of this year.

The new GX and G9L SUVs feature XPENG's Kunpeng Range Extender technology, specifically engineered to address the region's long distances and extreme heat. This technology combines an electric motor with an onboard generator, offering the benefits of electric driving with the flexibility for extended travel without constant reliance on charging infrastructure. The GX successfully completed a 1,231-km journey from the UAE to Oman without recharging, demonstrating the effectiveness of this technology in challenging desert conditions.

Dr. Brian Gu, Vice Chairman and President of XPENG, highlighted the Middle East's unique combination of technological appetite and ambitious future mobility plans, making it a key market for XPENG. Beyond vehicles, the company aims to introduce its broader Physical AI capabilities, including robotaxis, humanoid robots, and flying cars, to the region.

The GX and G9L are built on a foundation of high-tech luxury, featuring advanced amenities such as an 88-inch AR-HUD, a 21.4-inch 3K rear screen, noise cancellation, built-in refrigerators, and AI-powered zero-gravity seating. Safety is a paramount concern, with the G9L engineered to meet global five-star safety ratings. The GX, an executive flagship, prioritizes comfort and space, while the G9L offers a dynamic, lifestyle-focused design with flexible seating and advanced maneuverability.

XPENG's commitment to the region extends to its sales and service network. By 2027, the company plans to have over 100 sales and service outlets covering more than 90% of its core EV markets across MEA. XPENG has already established a presence in the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon, and has expanded into Tunisia, Bahrain, Morocco, and Mauritius in 2026. The GX and G9L are launching simultaneously in 11 countries, with pre-orders now open. The company is also accelerating its product rollout, with six new models planned for the Middle East within the next year.

Beyond electric vehicles, XPENG is bringing its Physical AI vision to the Middle East, with MEA expected to be among the first overseas markets for its flying cars. The company is also exploring the region for its robotaxi, XPENG YOYO, and has showcased its IRON humanoid robot. This strategic push underscores XPENG's commitment to innovation and its long-term vision for mobility in the Middle East and Africa.
