Egypt Denounces Houthi Missile Attack on Medina, Vows Unwavering Support for Saudi Arabia

Egypt has issued a strong condemnation, in the highest terms, of the ballistic missile attack that targeted the holy city of Medina in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptians Abroad released a statement on Friday expressing profound denunciation of such assaults, characterizing them as a blatant violation of international law and a threat to regional security, stability, and peace efforts.

The Egyptian government reaffirmed its complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia, standing alongside it in all measures undertaken to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its territory and citizens. Egypt emphasized that the security of the Kingdom is intrinsically linked to Egyptian national security and serves as a cornerstone of regional stability.

This incident follows an announcement on Thursday by the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, which reported the interception and destruction of a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi group towards Medina. Earlier, Saudi Civil Defense had issued an alert via the National Early Warning Platform in Yanbu Governorate, situated on the Red Sea coast, warning of a potential threat.
