Festive spirits filled the EgyptAir flight to Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania, as Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the Egyptian delegation headed to the inauguration of the Julius Nyerere Hydroelectric Dam and Power Plant. Generating 2,115 megawatts, this major project symbolizes Egypt's fulfilled promise of developmental partnership with Tanzania.
During the flight, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly greeted accompanying journalists, television representatives, officials from the Egyptian consortium “Arab Contractors-Elsewedy Electric,” and the engineers and technicians who worked on the project. He praised their dedication, hard work, and efficiency, calling them exemplary representatives of Egypt on the African continent.
The name “Julius Nyerere” was featured prominently throughout the journey, appearing alongside the logos of the Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric, as well as the Egyptian and Tanzanian flags on aircraft amenities. Completed in approximately five years, the project involved a workforce of around 12,000 employees, including roughly 1,700 Egyptian engineers and technicians.
