Emirates has resumed operations between Dubai and Kuwait following an extended suspension caused by the regional conflict, though services remain significantly below their previous levels. Flight EK857 departs Dubai International Airport at 2.55pm and arrives at Kuwait International Airport at 3.45pm local time, marking a limited return for one of Emirates’ key Gulf routes.
Before the disruption, the airline operated four daily services to Kuwait—EK853, EK855, EK857, and EK859. Meanwhile, other carriers such as Air Canada, Air France, and Scoot have extended their Middle East flight suspensions. Emirates previously suspended its Kuwait services due to regional security concerns and Gulf air travel disruptions. As recently as August 14, no Emirates-operated flights between Dubai and Kuwait were available on the airline's website.
The Dubai-based carrier also suspended services to Bahrain, initiating a limited return to that route on August 15 with a single daily flight, down from three prior to the disruption. With this move, both of the UAE's major long-haul airlines are now running limited services to Kuwait. Etihad also scaled back its Kuwait operations by mid-August, operating only one daily service, with EY653 departing Zayed International Airport at 8.10am local time and arriving in Kuwait at 9am local time.
Flights connecting the UAE and Kuwait have faced repeated schedule changes in recent weeks. While Emirates, Etihad, Air Arabia, and flydubai have adjusted or cancelled services at various times, local carriers like Kuwait Airways and Jazeera Airways have maintained several daily flights between Kuwait and the UAE. Airlines continue to evaluate their Gulf schedules as the security situation develops, and passengers are advised to verify their flight status before traveling.
