Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk announced on Sunday, August 23, 2026, that global investors have renewed their confidence in Egypt’s economic trajectory, noting that investment risk assessments have dropped to their lowest point since 2014.
Speaking at a meeting with Egyptian diplomats abroad, Ahmed Kouchouk stated, “Our economy has started to improve, while the private sector is growing and accounts for 60% of investments.” He highlighted that robust activity across industry, telecommunications, information technology, and tourism is driving economic growth, alongside ongoing government efforts to stimulate investment, lower debt, and broaden tax and customs incentives.
Ahmed Kouchouk emphasized that Egypt aims to widen its productive, industrial, and export base to enhance the economy’s competitiveness and draw in further investment. “Global investors have renewed their confidence in Egypt’s economic trajectory, and we look to your efforts to drive investment inflows,” he told the diplomats.
Furthermore, Ahmed Kouchouk pointed out that Egypt possesses substantial potential to boost services exports, backed by a young workforce equipped to compete in global markets.
