Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Sudanese Finance and Economic Planning Minister Gibril Ibrahim on Sunday, August 23, 2026, to explore strategies for broadening economic collaboration and aiding post-conflict reconstruction in Sudan.

The discussions focused on enhancing institutional partnerships between Egypt and Sudan regarding financial frameworks, boosting trade and investment flows, and eliminating barriers to bilateral commerce. Both officials also reviewed joint efforts to restore Sudan's critical infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on transportation networks, roads, the medical industry, and the pharmaceutical sector.
