The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued a warning as temperatures continue to climb across the country until the end of the week. A new heat wave is currently underway, with peak conditions expected from Tuesday through Thursday.

In Cairo, temperatures are forecasted to range between 37C and 38C. However, the EMA cautions that high humidity levels will push the perceived temperature up by an additional two degrees, making it feel closer to 40C during peak hours.

Daytime conditions will remain very hot and humid across the majority of the nation, while the northern coast will experience hot and humid weather. Nighttime conditions will stay slightly hot and humid nationwide, accompanied by high humidity levels reaching roughly 80 to 85 percent in Cairo and Lower Egypt, and soaring to 90 to 95 percent along the northern coast. Although daytime humidity will decrease relatively, the nighttime moisture will continue to exacerbate the perceived heat.

The EMA urges citizens to stay informed through daily weather updates and to take necessary precautions, particularly while driving in foggy conditions.
