India’s Supreme Court has ordered an official inquiry into police conduct following last month’s "cockroach" protests. Meanwhile, police have strongly rejected an Amnesty International report that accused law enforcement of brutality during the demonstrations.

With additional protests currently planned, questions are being raised about how significant of a challenge this youth-led movement poses to the government. Presenter Cyril Vanier discusses the situation with guests Sravasti Dasgupta, a senior political correspondent at The Wire in New Delhi; Shaina NC, a national spokesperson for Shiv Sena, a political party in India aligned with the governing Bharatiya Janata Party; and Uday Chandra, a professor of comparative politics and international relations at Ashoka University.
