Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's deep appreciation for the historical and fraternal bonds shared with Chad. He emphasized Cairo's strong commitment to expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, acting on directives from President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and Chadian President Field Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby to benefit both populations.

These statements were made during a telephone conversation on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, between Badr Abdelatty and Chadian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdoulaye Saber Fadoul. The discussion focused on bilateral relations, joint cooperation initiatives, and pressing regional matters.

During the call, the two officials evaluated the progress made in executing the decisions from the fourth session of the Egypt-Chad Joint Committee, which includes various collaborative projects, agreements, and memoranda of understanding.

The conversation also covered the situation in Sudan. Badr Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's firm backing for Sudan's unity, territorial integrity, sovereignty, and national institutions, while expressing opposition to parallel entities. He stressed the importance of achieving a Sudanese-led political resolution to bring back stability, security, and development.

Additionally, the diplomats addressed developments in Libya. Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's consistent support for Libya's state institutions and national unity, highlighting the necessity of a purely Libyan-led political process that culminates in concurrent parliamentary and presidential elections at the earliest opportunity.
