Private parking operator Parkonic has announced complimentary parking across various areas in the UAE during the public holiday observing the Prophet Mohammed's birthday.

Following an announcement by the Roads and Transport Authority on Wednesday, charges will be waived for all public parking spaces in Dubai on Friday, excluding multistorey car parks. Meanwhile, Parkonic stated on Thursday that parking will be free in spaces it manages in Abu Dhabi, including Shams Boutik, Al Wahda Mall, and Dalma Mall, as well as locations in Dubai such as SME Business Village and Lulu Silicon Central Mall.

Additional free parking areas include Dubai's Tilal Al Ghaf area and Dubai Silicon Oasis. Furthermore, Lulu supermarkets located in Sharjah's Muweilah, Buhaira, and Bu Tina neighbourhoods will also offer free parking. The company noted that public holiday parking arrangements may vary across other locations under its management, as tariffs and free parking periods are not solely determined by Parkonic.

Although the Prophet Mohammed’s birthday was marked on Tuesday, the public holiday for both public and private sector employees is observed on Friday, creating a three-day weekend.

Additionally, commuters planning to travel by bus from Dubai to Abu Dhabi are advised to utilize the E101 service departing from Ibn Battuta station. The E100 service running from Al Ghubaiba station to the capital will remain out of service from now until Sunday, and travellers are encouraged to check the S'hail app for updated bus timetables.
