Security forces in Cairo are actively investigating the tragic deaths of a family of three whose bodies were discovered inside a private vehicle parked along the Ring Road in the Misr al-Qadima (Old Cairo) area. Initial medical evaluations and technical examinations suggest that the victims succumbed to asphyxiation caused by a gas leak from the car's air conditioning system.
Authorities reported that the police emergency operations room received an alert from concerned passersby regarding a stationary car parked for an extended duration, with unresponsive individuals inside. Promptly responding to the call, security personnel and an ambulance arrived at the scene to find a man, his wife, and their daughter deceased within the locked vehicle, showing no visible signs of external violence or foul play.
Preliminary findings from the vehicle and medical inspections point toward suffocation resulting from the inhalation of significant amounts of Freon gas, which leaked from the air conditioning unit while the car was stationary and sealed. In response to the incident, the Public Prosecution has ordered the transfer of the bodies to the Forensic Medicine Authority for autopsies to definitively establish the cause of death. Furthermore, technical experts have been called in to inspect the car and assess the mechanical failure, while the Criminal Investigation Department continues its inquiry into the full circumstances surrounding the event.
