Labor Minister Hassan Raddad announced on Sunday, August 30, 2026, that the ministry is actively removing barriers to empower youth in entering the workforce, emphasizing that professional training remains a core priority to elevate the skills of Egyptian workers for opportunities in Arab and European markets.
Speaking with the Nile News Channel, Raddad highlighted the state's commitment to equipping Egyptian workers with top-tier training tailored to current labor demands. He noted significant national achievements, particularly the decline in the unemployment rate from over 13 percent in the 2013-2014 period to approximately eight percent today.
Addressing investment incentives, Raddad explained that the government has implemented various measures to assist investors and streamline obstacle resolution, including a newly formed support committee at the ministry's headquarters.
Regarding private-sector labor regulations, the labor minister stated that the new guidelines aim to foster work environment stability, boost investment, and strengthen job security through unified rules for small and large entities. Under these regulations, businesses with 10 or more employees must establish official labor guidelines approved by labor offices, whereas smaller establishments with fewer than 10 workers can implement streamlined rules regarding working hours and weekly rest periods.
