Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed al-Tayyeb and Qatar’s Ambassador to Egypt Jassem bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, to explore methods for enhancing academic and religious collaboration between Al-Azhar and Qatar.
During the discussions, Tayyeb emphasized the enduring relationship shared by Al-Azhar and Qatar, affirming the institution's commitment to broadening engagement through academic exchanges, joint research initiatives, and scholarships focused on Arabic and Islamic studies.
