The UAE government has unveiled ambitious plans to cultivate the next generation of Emirati experts in science and technology, aiming to support the nation's future aspirations. Established under the directives of President Sheikh Mohamed, the National Programme for Advanced Sciences and Technology will build a robust pipeline of domestic talent for vital industry roles.
To oversee the initiative, the Higher Committee for the National Programme for Advanced Sciences and Technology has been formed. Chaired by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the committee also features Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed as deputy chairman.
Other key members include Dr Sultan Al Jaber, Mohammed Al Gergawi, Abdulrahman Al Awar, Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Dr Ahmed Al Mazrouei, and Faisal Al Bannai. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed emphasized that the initiative will connect education, research, and development directly to the needs of strategic sectors.
The higher committee will manage budgets, set strategic directions, and report progress to the UAE President and the Prime Minister. Additionally, an executive committee chaired by Mr Al Gergawi has been created alongside a dedicated office to coordinate policies and drive future initiatives.
