Dr Anwar Gargash, diplomatic adviser to President Sheikh Mohamed, has stated that Iranian attacks targeting Gulf states and Jordan have "proven to be a failure." Emphasizing the necessity to resolve the political and economic dimensions of the ongoing six-month conflict, he reiterated his warning that a "state of neither war nor peace" is unsustainable following recent responses by the UAE and Jordan to renewed Iranian aggression.

According to Dr Gargash, these efforts must commence by de-escalating tensions and restoring freedom of navigation within the Strait of Hormuz. Writing on X on Monday, he stated, "The state of neither war nor peace cannot be a sustainable solution, just as the policy of targeting the Arab Gulf states and Jordan has proven to be a failure." He added that realistic and sustainable political solutions are required to address the crisis.

These remarks followed an announcement by the UAE Ministry of Defence confirming that an Iranian drone was successfully intercepted over its territorial waters. The ministry assured the public that no emergency alerts were issued and emphasized that the Armed Forces maintain a high state of readiness to counter potential threats, with air defence systems monitoring airspace continuously. Furthermore, the ministry refuted false reports from Iranian media claiming that Al Minhad Air Base near Dubai had been struck by missiles.

In a related development, Jordan reported that its air defences intercepted eight missiles within its airspace after Iran launched strikes targeting two military bases in Jordan. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed the action was retaliatory following US strikes on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, US Central Command stated its forces executed limited and precise actions against Iranian minelaying forces that presented an imminent threat in the strait.
