The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced Monday that there will be no increase in the current consular fees for Egyptians abroad at diplomatic and consular missions, according to the state-run Al-Ahram newspaper.
A statement released by the office of the Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister for Immigration Affairs emphasized that the directives from the Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad focus on facilitating, developing, and improving the efficiency of consular services provided to Egyptians abroad. The initiative also aims to better respond to their needs and accelerate the ongoing digitization of these services.
This official statement was issued in direct response to recent reports claiming that consular fees at Egyptian embassies and consulates were set to rise.
Furthermore, the statement highlighted that the ministry is preparing to launch a new interactive website dedicated to Egyptians abroad. This platform will fully automate consular transactions, fulfilling the recommendations established during the seventh edition of the Conference of Egyptians Abroad held in August.
