A Lebanese government delegation recently visited Dubai to study the UAE's advanced practices in government modernisation, artificial intelligence, and future readiness. Mohammed Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, welcomed the delegation, highlighting the UAE's ongoing dedication to sharing its administrative expertise with allied nations, according to the state news agency Wam.
“Exchanging successful experiences shortens development distances and contributes to building more efficient, flexible and future-ready governments capable of turning challenges and changes into opportunities,” stated Mr Al Gergawi.
The visiting Lebanese delegation featured Amer Bsat, Minister of Economy and Trade, alongside Kamal Shehadeh, Minister of State for Technology and Artificial Intelligence and Minister of the Displaced. The Government Knowledge Exchange Office at the Ministry of Cabinet Affairs coordinated the visit.
During the meetings, the Lebanese officials explored key UAE government initiatives focusing on artificial intelligence, strategic planning, zero bureaucracy, smart government services, future foresight, innovation, and institutional excellence. Mr Al Gergawi noted that this engagement builds upon the fraternal relations shared by the two countries, aiming to foster practical co-operation tailored to Lebanon's governmental priorities.
This initiative operates under the UAE's Government Knowledge Exchange Programme, which was established in 2018 to disseminate best practices and expertise to friendly nations. Since its launch, the programme has partnered with numerous countries in areas such as capacity building, service development, and strategic planning. Mr Al Gergawi reiterated that this knowledge-sharing approach aligns with the directives of the UAE leadership, which regards inter-governmental co-operation as a vital catalyst for accelerated development and strengthened bilateral ties.
