The death toll in Nepal from the devastating floods has risen to 1,114, according to an update released Wednesday morning by the country’s National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).
Meanwhile, at least 16 people have died on the Chinese side of the border, as reported by state broadcaster CCTV in an update on Sunday. Authorities indicate that roughly 4,500 people remain missing across both sides of the border.
The NDRRMA also stated that nearly 12,000 people have been successfully rescued in Nepal.
