Israeli soldiers have completely demolished the West Bank village of Khirbet Al Tabban and killed two teenagers, marking another violent escalation in the occupied territory. According to the Israeli rights group B’Tselem, the destruction forced the displacement of 12 families, comprising 70 people, including 28 children. Over several hours, Israeli forces razed all homes, agricultural structures, and water cisterns in the village, making it the 66th Palestinian community forcibly displaced by Israel since the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led attacks that sparked the Gaza war.

Shortly after, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported that the Israeli military killed two teenagers, identified as 16-year-old Khalil Shehadeh and 19-year-old Omar Al Naasan, from the village of Al Mughayyir near Ramallah. The Palestinian news agency Wafa stated that the killings occurred during a joint raid on the village by Israeli settlers and accompanying troops. The Israeli military claimed it was providing security for police and a civilian attempting to retrieve livestock, adding that forces opened fire on individuals throwing cinder blocks and stones during a violent riot.

This surge of violence in the occupied West Bank has seen a sharp increase in assaults against Palestinians, journalists, and Jewish-Israeli peace activists. While Israeli President Isaac Herzog claimed authorities are making major efforts to curb violence by rogue elements, critics accuse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of allowing the unrest to continue to satisfy his far-right coalition partners.
