President Sheikh Mohamed officially received the credentials of 18 newly appointed ambassadors to the UAE on Thursday during a prominent ceremony in Abu Dhabi, welcoming diplomats hailing from four continents.

The high-level event was attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, alongside several other senior Emirati officials. During the gathering, Sheikh Mohamed extended a warm welcome to the envoys and voiced his aspirations for their success in bolstering diplomatic relations between the UAE and their respective home nations. He further guaranteed that local Emirati authorities would deliver comprehensive support to help them execute their duties with maximum effectiveness.

Representing a diverse geographical spread, the newly arrived ambassadors included envoys from European nations such as Germany, France, the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Austria, Ireland, Slovenia, and Lithuania. Additional diplomats arrived from South Korea, Mauritania, Gabon, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, the Maldives, the Marshall Islands, and Haiti.

During the proceedings, the envoys transmitted formal greetings from their respective heads of state to Sheikh Mohamed while offering wishes for the sustained prosperity of the UAE and its population. Among the specific diplomats presenting their credentials were Dr Tobias Tunkel of Germany, Marie Audouard of France, Geraldine McCafferty of the UK, Lee Won-ik of South Korea, Rik Van Droogenbroeck of Belgium, and Soren Jacobsen of Denmark.

The formal ceremony was additionally attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad, Adviser to the UAE President; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan, Minister of State; and Sheikh Nahyan bin Saif, Deputy Minister of State.

This formal diplomatic tradition serves to officially recognize newly appointed foreign ambassadors by the host nation's head of state, thereby formally inaugurating their diplomatic missions.
