Tragic Four-Story Building Collapse in Minya Triggers Major Emergency Search and Rescue Operation

A residential building standing four stories tall collapsed on Al-Mu’assasa Street in the Ezbet Shaheen district of Minya city on Friday. The structural failure resulted in reported casualties and initiated a large-scale, multi-agency search and rescue mission, according to confirmations from local officials.

Following the alert raised by the operational headquarters of the Minya Local Unit, security authorities—under the leadership of Minya Security Director Major General Ahmed Izzat—rapidly dispatched civil defense forces, heavy machinery, and multiple ambulances to the location.

To secure the area and ensure public safety, emergency teams set up a strict security cordon around the perimeter. Heavy equipment was deployed to clear away the debris in an urgent effort to locate survivors. Meanwhile, rescue personnel persist in combing through the rubble to find any trapped residents and victims.
