During a phone call on Friday, President Sheikh Mohamed and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed the critical need to enhance security and stability throughout the Middle East.
According to the state news agency Wam, both leaders highlighted the necessity of achieving a lasting peace for populations across the entire region. This diplomatic communication followed a recent escalation in the Iran conflict, which saw Gulf states experience renewed attacks from Tehran this week.
In addition to regional security, President Sheikh Mohamed and Mr Erdogan explored bilateral co-operation and strategies to further solidify their enduring ties. The two leaders frequently engage in discussions to boost collaboration and address urgent regional challenges.
Previously in May, during another phone call, President Sheikh Mohamed and Mr Erdogan investigated ways to expand relations under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership, which officially took effect in March 2023.
Those prior talks occurred just one day after Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, held a meeting with the Turkish President. Wam reported that this meeting, part of a working visit to Turkey by Sheikh Mansour, focused on regional issues, specifically examining developments in the Middle East and their impact on regional security and stability through an exchange of views.
