At least four individuals lost their lives and twenty others sustained injuries during Sunday Israeli strikes targeting Lebanon, according to an announcement from the country's Health Ministry, amidst a renewed surge in violence along the southern border.

The Israeli military stated that early morning operations targeted southern Lebanon in response to Hezbollah launching two explosive drones toward troops stationed within the Israeli security zone. While forces successfully intercepted one drone with no reported Israeli casualties, authorities subsequently issued a forced displacement warning for sectors surrounding a building located in Arab Salim, designating the site as a Hezbollah facility slated for imminent attack. The Iran-backed group withheld immediate commentary.

According to the Health Ministry, casualties were distributed across multiple locations: two fatalities and two injuries occurred in Nabatieh Al Fawqa, while eight individuals—including a woman and a child—were hurt in the Al Rahibat neighbourhood of Nabatieh. Additionally, Arab Salim recorded two deaths and six injuries encompassing two children, alongside four injuries reported in Kfar Reman. Officials noted that these figures remain preliminary and may increase as emergency responders evaluate the full impact of the bombardments.

This escalation follows a Friday night bombing campaign initiated by the Israeli military outside the designated security zone, executed shortly after declaring that Hezbollah fighters had been cleared from the strategic Ali Al Taher ridge. That operation resulted in five deaths and twenty-four injuries across five southern Lebanese locations and the western Bekaa Valley, marking the first such strikes in the latter region since June.

The Ali Al Taher ridge has emerged as a significant flashpoint in the ongoing Israel-Hezbollah conflict despite a ceasefire brokered in June. Israel stated that Hezbollah combatants were concealed within subterranean tunnels beneath the elevation, which provides an extensive vantage point. Although Hezbollah disputed reports regarding the presence of Iranian personnel at the location and attempted to minimize the strategic value of the ridge, Israel maintained that Friday operations successfully targeted weapons storage facilities in southern Lebanon earmarked for Hezbollah use. Lebanese health authorities report that the cumulative death toll from Israeli strikes since March 2 now exceeds 4,300 people.
