Five UAE aid convoys have successfully entered Gaza, delivering 533 tonnes of humanitarian supplies as part of the nation's ongoing relief operations for Palestinians.

Consisting of 66 lorries, the convoys transported essential food and shelter materials to Palestinians in Gaza under Operation Gallant Knight 3, the UAE's dedicated humanitarian initiative.

The supplies were prepared and dispatched through the UAE humanitarian aid logistics centre located in Al Arish, Egypt. This facility manages a vital system for receiving, sorting, and preparing goods before they are transported into the enclave, ensuring a steady flow of assistance to those in need.

This ongoing operation addresses critical humanitarian needs during the Gaza war, which began in October 2023.

Since the launch of Operation Gallant Knight 3, the UAE has maintained a leading role in delivering aid and humanitarian assistance to the enclave. Last month marked 1,000 days of continuous support, with total contributions exceeding Dh14.2 billion ($3.89 billion).

This funding has facilitated the establishment of a floating hospital in Egypt and two medical centres in Gaza. Furthermore, thousands of patients, including individuals suffering from cancer and war-related injuries, have been welcomed in the Emirates for medical care.

According to the state news agency Wam, these latest efforts highlight the UAE's dedicated humanitarian mission to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and reflect the country's steadfast solidarity.

Additionally, the UAE's Step of Hope programme has provided prosthetic limbs for 72 Palestinian amputees following the campaign's launch in June.
