Qatar has joined seven other nations in strongly condemning Israeli proposals to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza, labeling the initiative a severe violation of international law and a major threat to regional stability.

On Sunday, Qatar united with Saudi Arabia, Jordan, UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Egypt, and Türkiye to release a joint statement. This response followed controversial remarks made by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and Defence Minister Israel Katz regarding the region's future.

The eight participating countries characterized the proposals as a direct attack on the rights of the Palestinian people and warned that removing Palestinians from their land would further destabilize the area. The controversy stems from Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir detailing his "Disengagement 710" proposal during a campaign for Israel’s Knesset election. The plan outlines a phased emigration strategy, aiming for 250,000 Palestinians to leave Gaza in the first year, escalating to over 1.86 million within seven years.

The joint statement firmly rejected any demographic alterations, noting that such measures undermine international diplomatic efforts to end the conflict, including proposals previously outlined by US President Donald Trump.

Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the foreign ministers from the coalition emphasized that Gaza remains an inseparable part of the occupied Palestinian territory. They called upon the UN Security Council and the international community to resist any forced changes to the demographic or geographic reality, while reaffirming backing for an independent Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem serving as its capital.
