Intense Israeli attacks have shaken southern Lebanon over the past 48 hours, culminating in a devastating air strike on Kfar Reman that left at least 10 people dead, including an infant, alongside two missing persons.

The early Monday strike in the Nabatieh district followed a previous day of violence in the nearby town of Arab Salim, where Israeli air raids killed at least seven individuals and wounded 20 others. Concurrently, the Israeli military executed overnight strikes on a residential zone in Deir al-Zahrani following an enforced evacuation order. The military stated its target was a structure near a Hezbollah facility allegedly utilized for launching an explosive drone.

These deadly military operations persist despite a United States-brokered ceasefire agreement established between Israel and Lebanon in June. Reporting directly from Kfar Reman, Al Jazeera correspondent Zeina Khodr described an atmosphere dominated by profound uncertainty and fear among residents. Among the casualties are children, most notably a two-month-old infant, as residential properties are destroyed and civilians face mounting threats. Meanwhile, civil defence teams continue their relentless recovery operations through the night.
