The Saudi-led coalition operating in Yemen reported on Tuesday that recent Houthi strikes directed at Saudi Arabia have left 73 civilians injured, among them women and children, marking a severe intensification of hostilities by the Iran-aligned militia.

Coalition spokesman Maj Gen Turki Al Malki stated that the recent assaults focused on civilian and economic infrastructure across the Saudi cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran.

“The attacks by the terrorist Houthi militia – the latest of which targeted civilian and economic sites in the cities of Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan and Najran – resulted in the injury of 73 civilians, including women and children,” Maj Gen Al Malki shared in an official statement on X.

“This constitutes a flagrant violation and a direct threat to the Kingdom's sovereignty and to the security and safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.”

Maj Gen Al Malki characterized the actions as a serious escalation by the Houthi militia and a direct menace to the kingdom's sovereignty, as well as the security and safety of everyone residing within its borders. He emphasized that the strikes reflect the Houthis' persistent and deliberate attacks on civilian populations and critical infrastructure, terming their actions a breach of both international humanitarian law and broader international law.
