President Sheikh Mohamed on Thursday met German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Berlin, marking the second day of his state visit. The UAE leader arrived at Villa Borsig, where he was greeted by the German leader with an official reception featuring the national anthems of both nations.
After signing the guestbook at the official residence, Sheikh Mohamed shared his enthusiasm for the visit and highlighted the enduring partnership between the two countries, which is built on a foundation of mutual friendship and co-operation. He further expressed optimism for strengthening ties between the nations and their populations.
Following the welcome ceremony, Sheikh Mohamed met several German ministers and senior officials. Meanwhile, the German President welcomed members of the accompanying UAE delegation, which features Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad, Adviser to the UAE President, alongside various ministers and senior officials.
Additionally, the UAE leader is scheduled to meet German Chancellor Friedrich Merz to discuss expanding co-operation, specifically targeting economic and development sectors. According to a Reuters report, the UAE and Germany are anticipated to sign various agreements covering AI, energy, and investment on Thursday.
