According to a report published by The Wall Street Journal on Thursday, Tehran has restarted the production of ballistic missiles, utilizing underground facilities across Iran for assembly. Citing sources among US and Middle East officials, the Journal reported that Iran is currently building liquid-propelled missiles with stockpiled components alongside solid-propellant missiles.

Intelligence indicators point to active operations at multiple subterranean locations, which includes the Khojir missile plant situated in south-eastern Iran. Officials noted that Tehran is attempting to construct additional underground plants to protect against potential future strikes.

A primary objective of the Iran war initiated by the Trump administration was the elimination of Tehran's conventional missile infrastructure. In an official statement provided to The National, the Pentagon asserted that US forces accomplished all assigned military objectives for the conflict.

"By every military metric, we’ve decimated Iran's military," stated Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell. "Centcom intercepted thousands of Iranian drones and missiles, significantly degraded Iran's ability to launch them, and destroyed up to 90 per cent of Iran’s drone, ballistic missile, and naval industrial base."

Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth stated in April that Iran’s missile programme was "functionally destroyed." However, demonstrating that Tehran has successfully restored a portion of its capabilities, the nation launched a missile barrage this week targeting a base in Jordan utilized by US troops.
