Palestinians gather to inspect the wreckage and damage at the site following an Israeli attack, targeting a civilian vehicle, in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood of Gaza City, on September 13, 2026. An Israeli air strike on a vehicle in Gaza City has resulted in the deaths of at least two individuals, while leaving 13 others injured, according to local medics.
The Sunday attack in the Tal al-Hawa neighborhood left the bodies of the deceased dismembered, health officials reported, as they appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the victims. Verified footage circulating on social media showed the targeted vehicle severely mangled and gutted, with its roof and doors torn away. The Israeli military stated that its operation had targeted two Hamas fighters.
This strike marks the latest incident in a series of near-daily Israeli attacks within the besieged Palestinian territory following a ceasefire agreement brokered between Israel and Hamas last October. Health authorities state that more than 1,300 Palestinians have lost their lives in Israeli strikes across Gaza since the truce began.
Hamas has accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire and obstructing US President Donald Trump’s initiative to end the war, which calls for an eventual Israeli withdrawal from the enclave and the disarmament of Hamas. Meanwhile, during a visit to Ireland, President Trump defended his administration's approach to the conflict, claiming that significant progress and positive relationships have been established since the intervention.
According to local authorities, the ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of at least 73,669 people, predominantly women and children, since October 2023.
