Poland and Ukraine have strongly condemned Russia for a dangerous escalation following a drone strike on a train located just two kilometers from the Polish border. The attack occurred near Yagodyn station while a diplomatic train carrying former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, security advisers from several EU member states, and former European leaders, along with another train carrying former US CIA director David Petraeus, were present at the station. Fortunately, no casualties were reported from the strike on the Kyiv-Warsaw passenger train.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Moscow deliberately targeted the locomotive. Polish President Donald Tusk expressed grave concern over the increasing proximity of Russian actions to the border, highlighting the heightened threat posed by faster jet-powered long-range strike drones. Meanwhile, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski, speaking in Kyiv, urged Western allies to double their support for Ukraine in response to the growing peril.

In a separate development, United States President Donald Trump called on Ukraine to halt its long-range drone campaign targeting Russian oil infrastructure, linking the strikes to rising fuel prices in the US. Ukraine has maintained that these attacks on the Russian energy sector are a necessary measure to disrupt the resources funding and fueling Moscow's invasion.
