Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar held comprehensive talks with officials from the National Council for Education, Research, and Innovation (NCERI) to focus on the advancement of technical education, university programs, scientific research, and essential labor market skills.
The meeting took place at the ministry’s headquarters in the New Capital, where Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with Salma al-Bakry, Head of the council’s Technical Secretariat, alongside Secretariat member Mahmoud Hamza.
According to Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the discussion highlighted the crucial role of the council in coordinating education, scientific research, and innovation. The talks also emphasized preparing highly qualified professionals capable of keeping pace with rapid scientific and technological developments.
Furthermore, the officials reviewed collaborative plans with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education aimed at upgrading technical education and synchronizing efforts on the National Qualifications and Skills Framework and the National Labor Market Index.
Discussions also extended to partnership initiatives with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to introduce innovative university specializations. Additional topics included the establishment of a dedicated research and studies unit within the council’s Technical Secretariat, as well as a specialized committee tasked with assessing and enhancing both university and pre-university education systems. Finally, the participants addressed the legal status of the Technical Secretariat and reviewed its proposed budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
