Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with Singaporean Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs Zhulkarnain Abdul Rahim to discuss strategies for advancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation. During the meeting, both officials exchanged perspectives on various regional and international matters of mutual concern.

Minister Abdelatty acknowledged the positive momentum in Egyptian-Singaporean relations over recent months, highlighting the September 2025 visit by the President of Singapore to Egypt. He emphasized the necessity of implementing the agreements and memoranda of understanding established during that visit, particularly as both nations prepare to celebrate the 60th anniversary of their diplomatic ties next year.

Highlighting investment prospects, Minister Abdelatty encouraged Singaporean companies to scale up their investments in Egypt to localize priority industries, noting the incentives available in the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Furthermore, he emphasized deepening institutional relations between Egypt and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), aiming to elevate Egypt's status to a Sectoral Dialogue Partner.

The discussions also addressed key regional developments, focusing heavily on the Palestinian Cause. Minister Abdelatty underscored the importance of advancing the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s peace plan, achieving Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, ensuring sustained humanitarian aid, and supporting reconstruction efforts. In response, the Singaporean minister praised Egypt's continuous diplomatic efforts to secure a ceasefire, implement the Sharm El-Sheikh agreement, and facilitate relief assistance to Gaza.
