Passengers travelling with Emirates can now book flight tickets using Jaywan cards starting Wednesday. As part of a special launch offer, the card provides a limited-time discount across all classes and most fare types for both one-way and return flights departing from Dubai. This promotional offer applies to bookings made from Wednesday through August 31, 2027, for travel scheduled until February 29, 2028, with the Dubai-based airline accepting all Jaywan cards.

Jaywan serves as the UAE’s first national domestic card programme, designed to enhance financial inclusion and lower payment processing costs. The system is owned and operated by Al Etihad Payments, a subsidiary of the UAE Central Bank. This integration broadens the available payment options for airline passengers, with UAE customers currently able to access special fares at Emirates shops and online access anticipated soon.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ deputy president and chief commercial officer, stated that Jaywan provides a home-grown option that introduces additional choice and simplicity for bookings, enabling more UAE residents using Jaywan cards to book flights as easily as standard transactions.

Dr Tariq Al Hawi, chief operating officer at Al Etihad Payments, noted that accepting Jaywan cards across emirates.com and Emirates retail stores grants cardholders greater choice, flexibility, and convenience. This collaboration between Emirates and Al Etihad Payments further reinforces the financial infrastructure currently being developed in the UAE.

Previously, in October 2025, the airline established an agreement with Dubai Finance to advance the Dubai Cashless Strategy among international visitors, followed by the July launch of Crypto.com Pay to give eligible UAE residents an alternative payment method on the Emirates website and application.

Jaywan was engineered to securely and efficiently process domestic transactions. The cards are currently issued by several banks in the UAE and are accepted by an expanding network of merchants spanning sectors such as ride-hailing, car rentals, restaurants, attractions, health care, pharmacies, and retail.
