UAE and Syria Strengthen Bilateral Ties and Economic Cooperation in Abu Dhabi Summit

President Sheikh Mohamed held a high-level meeting with Syrian President Ahmad Al Shara in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to explore avenues for deepening bilateral relations. The discussions coincided with Mr Al Shara's working visit to the UAE, which also featured his participation in the 24th Arab Media Summit held in Dubai.

During the talks, both leaders underscored their dedication to fostering UAE-Syria relations, placing particular emphasis on economic recovery and mutual development objectives. Mr Al Shara noted during his time in Dubai that a revitalized Syria offers widespread benefits.

A primary focus of the dialogue was the recent mission undertaken by a UAE economic delegation to Syria. Both officials lauded the visit as a pivotal milestone in creating solid frameworks for economic resurgence and strategic partnerships aimed at fulfilling both nations' long-term visions.

Sheikh Mohamed expressed his gratitude to Mr Al Shara for accepting the invitation to the summit, an influential gathering for policymakers and media experts across the Arab world. In addition to economic matters, the leaders addressed pressing regional and international issues, analyzing Middle Eastern developments and their consequences for regional security and stability. They emphasized the necessity of bolstering cooperative frameworks to enhance global well-being and development.

Earlier, Mr Al Shara was received at the Arab Media Summit by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai. Writing on X, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the robust nature of ties between the two nations, expressing optimism regarding Syria's resurgence in development and its restored global standing, alongside deep fraternal bonds shared by the two peoples.
