Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to discuss the latest developments in Lebanon. The conversation was part of ongoing consultations and coordination between the two nations, focusing on the exchange of views regarding regional developments and strategies to strengthen bilateral relations.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He strongly condemned all Israeli violations and attacks against Lebanese sovereignty, emphasizing the necessity of Israel’s complete withdrawal from occupied Lebanese territories as well as the full and non-selective implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. Furthermore, he highlighted Egypt’s backing of Lebanese state institutions, with a particular focus on the Lebanese army.
