Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned that intelligence assessments indicate Russia is planning drone and missile strikes against nations supporting Ukraine. Speaking to parliament on Thursday, Warsaw’s leader explained that these actions are designed to undermine NATO’s collective response capabilities.

“According to intelligence assessments, Russia’s plan … includes hybrid drone and missile strikes against countries supporting Ukraine, including Poland,” Tusk stated. European nations have increasingly suspected Moscow of orchestrating recent sabotage acts to pressure allies assisting Kyiv against Russia’s full-scale invasion, though the Kremlin has strongly denied these allegations.

Tusk noted that these prospective strikes would be framed as accidental occurrences intended to paralyze or weaken the resolve of NATO states regarding mutual defense provisions. While he did not specify which intelligence agencies delivered the warning, he cautioned that the attacks might coincide with political shifts in Europe where Russia-friendly political factions could advocate for Ukraine's capitulation under the guise of peace.

Earlier on Thursday, Poland scrambled military planes following a Russian attack in western Ukraine near the Polish border. Airports in Rzeszow and Lublin faced temporary closures, while residents in two eastern regions received air raid warnings, prompting local sirens and school shelter protocols. Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz confirmed that Poland has heightened airspace protection by increasing F-16 and helicopter activity alongside air defense reinforcements. Concluding his remarks, Tusk announced plans to visit Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday to discuss cooperation within the Integrated Anti-Ballistic Missile Coalition.
