Dubai has officially initiated a ten-day mourning period to honor the passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as confirmed by the Dubai Media Office on Monday.
Expressing profound grief over the loss of his brother, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, offered prayers for his soul, stating, "You are absent from our eyes but not from our prayers and hearts."
In his heartfelt tribute, the Dubai Ruler added, "May God make you dwell in the vast expanses of His Paradise... and inspire us and your loved ones with patience and solace... And to God we belong, and to Him we shall return."
According to the Dubai Media Office, Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid passed away on Monday. Throughout the duration of official mourning, flags across the region will be flown at half-mast.
