Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar recently held discussions with a World Bank delegation to review existing cooperation and explore future partnerships aimed at bolstering Egypt’s health sector, aligning with ongoing initiatives to elevate healthcare quality for citizens.
Ministry Spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar noted that both parties evaluated ongoing and upcoming joint projects, highlighting a shared vision for healthcare advancement, boosting local production of medicines and medical supplies, and expanding private sector collaboration for advanced treatments.
The discussions further covered key elements of the Universal Health Insurance System implementation project, focusing on upgrading hospital and health unit infrastructure, equipping facilities in upcoming targeted governorates, and integrating university hospitals into the broader network.
Additionally, the meeting explored adopting Indonesia's successful model in universal health coverage, with plans for an upcoming delegation visit arranged alongside the World Bank to study best practices in large-scale health system management, investment models, and public-private partnerships.
