Tehran’s leadership has issued a stern warning to the United States against any new attacks following US President Donald Trump’s threat to "annihilate" Iran during his address to the UN General Assembly.
During his speech, US President Donald Trump stated that he faces a "big decision" regarding Iran, framing it as a choice between reaching a deal following the midterm elections and completely destroying the country.
In response, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) cautioned against any military action, stating that Washington would achieve "nothing but failure," according to Iranian state media Press TV.
“Trump forgets that he has already made threats before but was unable to carry them out, and now he is once again making new threats,” remarked IRGC spokesperson Hossein Mohebbi, as reported by Press TV.
Furthermore, the General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces warned that Tehran would strike back with "even harsher, crushing, and unpredictable blows," emphasizing that repeated "baseless allegations and threats" by the US should not be misconstrued as strength.
Echoing these sentiments, parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf warned via Iranian state media Tasnim that Iran would refuse to surrender or halt its activities under US pressure.
“We will never surrender, and we will not shut down the country. We will respond with power, just as we have done so far, and rendered the enemy incapable in all arenas,” Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated.
