During a high-level roundtable on Gaza’s early recovery on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York, Minister of State for International Cooperation Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad called for a full Israeli withdrawal and the immediate deployment of an international stabilization force in the Strip.

Al Misnad emphasized the need for tangible progress on the ground, asserting that early recovery efforts must align with the daily survival needs of the Palestinian people, which includes the safe and unimpeded delivery of aid.

Citing UN Security Council Resolution 2803, the minister outlined critical steps for the peace roadmap, including dismantling military capabilities, empowering the National Committee for the Management of the Gaza Strip, and starting widespread reconstruction. Al Misnad also reaffirmed Doha’s ongoing mediation efforts alongside Egypt, Türkiye, and the United States to secure a lasting ceasefire.

Highlighting dire conditions, Al Misnad noted that fuel remains a critical lifeline for basic civil services. Over the past three years, Qatar has supplied Gaza with roughly 30 million liters of fuel and recently signed a new agreement with the UN for another 1.3 million liters. Additionally, Qatari relief efforts continue to support the local healthcare sector through the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Hospital for Rehabilitation and Prosthetics in Gaza.

Ultimately, Al Misnad stressed that all international relief and recovery initiatives must pave the way for the reunification of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza under a single, independent Palestinian state.
