The CEO of Egypt’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (MSMEDA), Mostafa Hassan, met with a delegation from the Arab Women Investors Union, led by President Hoda Galal Yassa, on Thursday, September 24, 2026. The discussions focused on fostering future collaboration to empower entrepreneurs, youth, women, and small businesses.
During the meeting, Hassan reviewed MSMEDA's preparations for the upcoming 2026 Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Summit in Luxor. He emphasized the agency's strategy to enhance cooperation with civil society organizations and business development institutions to improve the overall entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Hassan highlighted initiatives aimed at helping small enterprises expand into export markets by creating new domestic and international marketing channels and boosting competitiveness. Furthermore, the agency intends to collaborate with development partners to overcome obstacles faced by small businesses and attract greater private investment. Plans also involve integrating modern technology to elevate productivity, foster knowledge-based ventures, and assist entrepreneurs in commercializing innovative ideas.
In response, Yassa formally invited Hassan to join the Arab-African Investment and International Cooperation Summit, set to run from October 18 to 22 in Luxor. Organized by the Arab Women Investors Union, the event anticipates participation from delegations representing 43 nations.
Yassa noted that potential joint efforts with MSMEDA could encompass targeted vocational training tied to job creation, particularly within the tourism and industrial sectors. Both parties also addressed entrepreneurship programs and specialized training designed to upgrade the workforce skills of small and medium-sized enterprises, ultimately strengthening the global market presence of Egyptian goods.
