Ahmed al-Zaher, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), emphasized that local Egyptian talent remains the primary driver attracting global technology giants to establish expansion and international service hubs in Egypt.

Addressing the ninth edition of DevOpsDays Cairo 2026, Ahmed al-Zaher noted that rapid advancements in artificial intelligence, especially Agentic AI, are actively transforming software development and operations. This evolution demands updated methodologies, robust governance, strict security frameworks, and ongoing investment in specialized expertise.

He pointed out the crucial contributions of ITIDA's Software Engineering Competence Center (SECC) in elevating Egyptian capabilities through targeted training, consulting, technical capacity building, and international certifications, which significantly boost the global competitiveness of local engineers and firms.

According to Ahmed al-Zaher, international enterprises consistently praise the caliber of Egyptian professionals during discussions with ITIDA. He specifically referenced a recent exchange with NVIDIA, where the company lauded local developers and startup founders. NVIDIA's initiatives currently engage over 200 Egyptian startups and approximately 46,000 programmers.

The continuous growth of multinational operations in Egypt to service international markets demonstrates profound trust in Egyptian talent, reinforcing the nation's status as a premier global technology and digital-services destination.

Convened under the banner “Sustainable DevOps in the Agentic AI Era,” the conference served as a collaborative platform for domestic and global specialists to explore trends in AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and the future landscape of software engineering. The ninth installment showcased 66 presenters, featuring 13 international figures representing nine nations. ITIDA has proudly organized DevOpsDays Cairo since 2018, positioning Cairo as the exclusive Arab host city for an event spanning more than 60 municipalities globally.
