Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly directed the Supply and Internal Trade Ministry on Sunday, September 27, 2026, to maintain daily monitoring of the bread and subsidized-goods systems, ensuring that essential commodities remain adequately supplied in the markets.

During a strategic meeting with Supply and Internal Trade Minister Sherif Farouk, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly emphasized the necessity of sustaining regular supplies, maintaining sufficient stock levels, and responding swiftly to any consumer complaints or supply chain disruptions.

The discussions covered the continuous availability of flour for bakeries, the steady production and distribution of subsidized bread, and the flow of essential commodities across various retail outlets. Minister Sherif Farouk noted that the ministry is actively tracking stocks and distribution rates to guarantee that supply consistently meets public demand.

Furthermore, Minister Sherif Farouk detailed ongoing efforts to audit and verify subsidy-card data, aiming to enhance the efficiency of the subsidy system and ensure that benefits directly reach eligible recipients. He also presented updates on strategic reserves, safe inventory thresholds, and commodity price monitoring.

Highlighting cost-of-living relief efforts, Minister Sherif Farouk reported progress on an initiative designed to reduce commodity prices. The Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade recently expanded the program by adding 18 new products, raising the total number of discounted goods to 30.
