Jingdong Property, the infrastructure investment and asset-management arm of JD.com, has announced plans to establish a massive 150,000-square-metre logistics hub in Abu Dhabi’s Kezad economic zone. The upcoming complex is projected to generate approximately 1,000 direct jobs upon its expected completion in 2028.

The agreement was signed between Jingdong Property and Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi Group to develop the advanced warehousing facility at Kezad Al Ma’mourah, though the financial terms of the project remain undisclosed. The site will feature automated warehousing systems and digital operations technology, offering customized development services for both domestic and international companies.

Mohamed Al Khadar Al Ahmed, chief executive of Kezad Group, noted that the partnership will bolster Kezad's logistics capabilities and reinforce its role as a key gateway for regional and global trade. Meanwhile, Feng Guo, chief executive of JD.com Middle East, emphasized that the project marks a significant milestone in Jingdong Property’s UAE expansion strategy aimed at supporting efficient supply chains.

This initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi's wider economic diversification strategy to attract greater manufacturing, logistics, and supply-chain activities into its industrial zones. The development also supports the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Industrial Strategy and the UAE’s Operation 300bn programme, according to Kezad.

The expansion comes as numerous Chinese enterprises continue to grow their presence in the UAE. Notably, Beijing-based China Securities recently secured a license from the DIFC Authority to set up its regional operations within the Dubai International Financial Centre, further strengthening financial and commercial ties between China and the UAE.
